Image resizer comes to Windows 7

scissors

One of the single most useful applications on my PC is the Image Resizer powertoy, this allows me to quickly resize a photo to send by mail or use in a presentation.

The Powertoy is now available for Vista and Windows 7 (32bit and 64bit) and once installed will give you right click access to a whole range of options for shrinking those giant hi-res images that your hard drive is full of.

Download the Image Resizer Powertoy directly from here. (Full info at : Aviraj’s Blog) Oh yes, did I mention it’s free?

How it should be done – #1

services

Great customer service is often a collection of very small touches that make the difference; the personalised response on the phone, the thoughtful addition to the hotel room care package or the sincere smile that comes with a retail experience.

I booked my car in for a service and two things happened which have convinced me that my car is booked in the right place. First, they offered to drive me home after I had left my car for the day and secondly, they sent an SMS to remind me of the details and gave me a named contact to deal with.

I know I’ll pay for this somewhere along the line, but those are touches that breed loyalty.

What are you doing to build your customers loyalty?

Reboot – and change direction a little bit…

ctrl-alt-del-pillows

I’m rebooting and changing direction a little bit, and will begin that by paying some much needed attention to my site. I’ve had a bit of a redesign and made some things work that were broken – my DJ Mixes page is now completely functional, with links to all of my recent mixes now available. I’ve added some social networking tools to help bookmark the best posts.

I’m planning to focus my attention a little bit more towards my work – I recently went on a course delivered by Nicholas Bate on Personal Excellence, and he spoke about creating a personal brand, and being very deliberate about the processes you follow as you ‘put yourself out there’.  I’ve been quite inspired since that course and have used the summer vacation time to reassess and plan out how I’ll do that.

I’m really excited about this next phase of my online life.
