Xbox 360 - moving into the 21st century

December 12th, 2005 · No Comments

So, whilst I was in the US - I bought the Xbox 360 wireless adapter, a little doofer which plugs into one of the USB slots on the rear of my 360, and then clips onto the grille. It looks like an Ipod Shuffle…with a little grey antenna poking up 2 inches. Once installed, it found my home network in a matter of seconds, from the Xbox Dashboard I went to network settings and it was already acquiring an IP address. So my next puzzle was getting it to find my PC, so it could stream some music.

I quickly ran upstairs to my PC - and went to xbox.com - to see what I needed to do next - it was simple. I downloaded the software from this page, and my PC decided what it wanted to share - I told it the right things to share, and lo and behold, it found my Xbox and started sharing.

A quick run downstairs told me everything was working - and within 10 minutes of clipping that little doofer to the back on my Xbox 360 - I was in the 21st century - listening to music across my home network. Most excellent work, Xbox dudes.
